Post Surgery

Our nurses will educate you and your caretakers on the processes that are part of your personal recovery.

Outpatient Surgery

It is required that you have a responsible adult over the age of 19 to assist and stay overnight with you after surgery since you will not be able to drive for 24 hours. You are also not going to be able to cook for yourself and you may need assistance moving about. It is a good idea for someone to check on you every few hours at night and be there to assist you with taking your medication. If you were to have a complication, that person would help in obtaining the needed medical assistance.

Inpatient Surgery

Some surgeries will require you to stay at the hospital overnight. For these patients, we want your stay in our guest suites to be a home away from home. We will do our best to make sure your stay at OrthoNebraska is a pleasant one.

Physical & Occupational Therapy, if applicable.

In many cases, physical and/or occupational therapy will be needed in your recovery process. The Orthopaedic and Sports Rehabilitation department at OrthoNebraska is a great resource to help you through your rehabilitation. Ask your doctor if rehab is needed and ask to have it at OrthoNebraska.
