Licensed as an acute care hospital by the State of Nebraska, OrthoNebraska is fully accredited by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is the premier credentialing and accrediting organization within health care. Earning the Gold Seal for full accreditation from The Joint Commission means that as a hospital we meet the highest standards for patient care. In addition, the hospital has disease specific certification from The Joint Commission for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement.

The hospital is also certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services. This means the hospital is able to provide care for individuals who participate in these government sponsored programs.

OrthoNebraska specializes in the diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitative needs of persons with musculoskeletal conditions. Our facilities are state-of-the-art and focused on high quality, cost effective care. Our staff is chosen for their experience and passion for outstanding patient care.

Many of our surgeons sub-specialize and have completed fellowships in a variety of areas including: sports medicine, joint replacement, hand and upper extremity, problems of the foot and ankle, and spine care. They are supported by physicians from a variety of other specialties including: internal and family medicine, cardiology, pathology, radiology and anesthesiology. These physicians assist with your care during your entire stay. In addition, area physicians may use the facility for other specialty surgeries relating to their patients.

Our nursing staff consists of high quality registered nurses and we maintain excellent nursing-to-patient ratios in all areas of the hospital. The medical staff is composed of over 100 physicians from 16 different specialties.

Our physicians and staff take quality and patient care very seriously. We are one of few hospitals in the region utilizing a fully electronic medical record. This not only helps protect patient privacy, but assures that everyone participating in your care has access to the information they need.

Quality of Care & Patient Safety

OrthoNebraska participates in a number of national quality measures including those specifically focused on infections acquired in hospitals. We consistently match or exceed the results of other hospitals in our area.

We also participate in national patient satisfaction surveys sponsored by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). In late 2007, CMS began publishing the results of those surveys. Based on patient satisfaction information collected since early 2005, our patients consistently rate us as one of the top hospitals in Nebraska and Iowa in overall satisfaction.
